The undersigned civil and human rights organizations express their deep concern about the continued exacerbation of human suffering in Syria following the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria at dawn on Monday, February 6^th, 2023.

They appeal to all countries of the world and its humanitarian and relief organizations to expedite the provision of urgent assistance to limit the effects of the natural humanitarian disaster that befell Turkey and Syria, in compliance with the implementation of the guidelines related to facilitating and organizing international aid for relief and international recovery in cases of disasters.

They also appeal to the Arab countries and the countries of the world to quickly provide this humanitarian aid to Syria, due to the war, siege, and sanctions it has been subjected to for 12 years, making it the weakest in the face of this devastating earthquake.

It is a human duty for the world not to just stand and watch today, in front of the horror of the destruction and the victims as a result of this disaster.

In the face of these calls and the continuation of the painful human reality, we affirm the following:

Demand the immediate lifting of sanctions on Syria and allowing all material access to it.
Demand the international community for rapid emergency aidو and sending relief and rescue teams, medical and food aid, heating means, and other necessary needs, to both Syria and Turkey without discrimination or politicization.
Facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid convoys to the affected areas, and opening all border crossings, ports and airports with Syria for the passage of aid, in addition to allowing the collection of materials and donations and their delivery to the affected areas.
Condemn the double standards and politicization of dealing with the devastating earthquake that struck both Turkey and Syria.
